Thamizhodu Inaivom: Azhagae! Thamizhae! 2026 is a signature programme by the Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee (TLLPC) that brings together students and parents to experience the Tamil Language in a fun, meaningful and interactive way.

The programme provides a vibrant Tamil-speaking environment where families engage in hands-on activities and practical learning experiences. Through curated sessions and guided interactions, parents are equipped with useful strategies to support their child’s Tamil Language learning at home, while students build confidence in using Tamil in everyday contexts.

Programme Focus

The programme is designed to:

  • Equip parents with practical strategies to incorporate Tamil into everyday family conversations and routines

  • Create opportunities for parents and children to learn and use Tamil together

  • Support students in developing confidence and familiarity in using Tamil beyond the classroom

  • Promote meaningful and enjoyable Tamil Language learning experiences at home

Participants

The programme is catered for:

  • Primary 3 and Primary 4 students

  • One parent per participating student

Participants engaged in a range of interactive and hands-on activities that encouraged the use of Tamil in authentic and meaningful contexts.

Programme Facilitation

The programme featured sharing sessions and facilitation by:

  • Recipients of the Most Inspiring Tamil Teachers’ Award 2025, who shared practical strategies for daily Tamil conversations

  • Officers from Ministry of Education’s Tamil Language Unit (Curriculum Planning and Development Division), who provided insights on curriculum and resources

  • Representatives from Tamil Murasu, who introduced digital tools and media resources to support Tamil usage at home

Their collective expertise provided parents with actionable strategies and meaningful insights to support their child’s Tamil Language learning journey.
