Celebrating 15 Years: Launch of the TLLPC's Commemorative Coffee Table Book

Overview
In celebration of its 15th anniversary, the Tamil Language Learning and Promotion Committee (TLLPC) launched a commemorative coffee table book that captures its journey of promoting the Tamil Language (TL) in Singapore, in close partnership with community stakeholders and organisations.
The commemorative book is available in both print and digital formats, and documents TLLPC’s sustained efforts, collaborations, and impact over the years in nurturing the learning and use of Tamil among students and the wider community.
Book Launch
The coffee table book, titled Naavil Thamizh Naalum Thamizh (translated as “Speak Tamil! Speak it Everyday!”), was officially launched on Friday, 16 April 2021 by S. Iswaran, Minister for Communications and Information, and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations. Mr Iswaran also served as the former Chairman of TLLPC (2006–2016).
About the Book
The commemorative publication features a foreword by Tharman Shanmugaratnam, and highlights TLLPC’s role and contributions in advancing Tamil Language learning and promotion over the past 15 years.
It documents collaborations with key partners and Tamil organisations, including:

Voices from the Community
The book offers insights into the collective efforts of youths, educators, and community leaders through interviews and reflections from stakeholders such as:

These narratives highlight the shared responsibility and commitment of the community in sustaining the Tamil Language ecosystem in Singapore.
